James 3:7-9
James 3:7-9 King James Version (KJV)
7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:
8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.
James 3:7-9 New Life Version (NLV)
7 Men can make all kinds of animals and birds and fish and snakes do what they want them to do. 8 But no man can make his tongue say what he wants it to say. It is sinful and does not rest. It is full of poison that kills. 9 With our tongue we give thanks to our Father in heaven. And with our tongue we speak bad words against men who are made like God.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.
7 Most animals can be trained by man; God has given man this authority.
8-9 The tongue can be wilder then any animal, it hard to control what we say, it comes thru submission to the Lord. The tongue can harm and destroy others it can spread lies and hate but thru Jesus the tongue can be used for holy reasons.

Re: James 3:7-9
Agree, Clark.
The tongue engages a lot more rapidly than our common sense and spiritual reason. Our sin nature is responsible of course and the struggle is continual.
It takes a lot of discipline to communicate more with our ears than our mouth.

Greg Lauer had a good quote on his latest article :

It is better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt. Greg Lauer
